Connection Happens During Conversation

You’ve called the patient back for their appointment, taken their x-rays, and reviewed their medical history…now what? This is an excellent opportunity for team members interacting with the new patient to establish strong rapport. Establish a conversation with them by asking questions about their primary reason for visiting the practice, or simply asking them what they have planned for the rest of their day. The goal here is to be conversational and get to know the patient.

During this time, communication is essential. Team members should tell other team members what they need to know and include patients in trust transfers. Inform the patient of the situation and what they can expect from your team.
